The driver had left the scene of the accident. Police are investigating the accident.
This is the second hit and run accident on Saint Barnabas Road in the past two months. Another woman was struck on the same road near Leisure Drive on November 16 by an unidentified driver. Police say the driver left the scene of the accident, leaving the woman to die.
Prince George’s County Police request that anyone with information about either incident contact their department immediately.
Leaving the scene of a fatal car accident typically results in serious criminal charges. Although many leave the scene of a hit and run car crash for fear of the consequences, the truth is the punishment is much less severe than if you flee the scene. By leaving the accident scene, you could face potential prison sentences, hefty fines, revoked or suspended licenses, and felony charges.
