Toyota Tacoma 4x4s Recall: Defective Propeller Shaft | DC Metro Area Personal Injury Law Blog

Certain 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4×4 Trucks are being recalled by the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Toyota Motor Corporation due to a drivetrain defect.  Approximately 100 trucks are currently subject to the recall, involving rear propeller shafts which were improperly cast and my fail, separating and coming into contact with the road.  Under the recall, scheduled to begin on or around August 8, 2007, authorized dealers will replace the rear propeller shaft with a new one free of charge.

Truck owners with questions concerning the recall are instructed to call Toyota at 1(800) 331-4331, or by contacting NHTSA at 1(888) 327-4236, or via their recall website:  http://www.safercar.gov.
