The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall along with Haier America of about 106,000 toaster oven/broilers. Electrical connections in the toaster oven/broilers can become loose posing the threat of electrical shock or burns.

According to the release, “Haier America has received two reports of minor burns and one report of a minor electrical shock to consumers, and one report of minor property damage.” The recalled toaster ovens and broilers have the model number RTO1400SS printed on the back and the units are made of stainless steel and black plastic. Haier America urges consumers to immediately stop the use of these products and will replace these toaster oven/broilers free of charge.
