Bluetooth Hearing Loss | DC Metro Area Personal Injury Law Blog

5 stars

According to a recent article in the St. Petersburg Times, two lawsuits recently filed in Tampa allege that the Bluetooth devices manufactured by Motorola, Plantronics, and Jabra can cause permanent hearing loss, and that these manufacturers have failed to warn consumers of the known dangers.

The suits claim that testing of a Motorola model produced decibels high enough to damage hair cells of the inner ear, with as little as five minutes for such damage. Similar lawsuits have been filed across the country in Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma and Tennessee, with more expected in the near future.

If class-action status is approved, those who have purchased the headsets in the state where approval has taken place will be eligible to join.

If you or a family member believes that you have a case involving hearing loss from a Bluetooth headset, please contact us on-line at Regan Zambri & Long or call us at (202) 463-3030 for a free consultation.  If you would like to receive our complimentary electronic newsletter, please click here.
