Halloween 2019 Safety Tips For Children

5 stars

It is that time of the year again for jack-0-lanterns, costumes, and candy. No matter how you plan to celebrate Halloween this year, its always important to stay on top of safety for this year’s events. Making sure kids have safe arrangements for trick-or-treating, or other activities, will ensure no unforeseen accidents ruin the fun.

Costumes

  • Try to pick a costume with bright or reflective colors to make kids more visible at night
  • Opt for face paint over face masks which can obstruct kids’ vision
  • Pick a costume that kids can move freely in that will minimize tripping hazards

Trick-Or-Treating

  • Accompany children under 12 trick-or-treating
  • Make sure children know not to enter a stranger’s home
  • Ensure children walk in neighborhoods with the least amount of traffic- children are more than twice as likely to be hit by a car on Halloween than on any other day of the year
  • Put away devices that might cause distractions which could lead to car accidents
